Are current searches losing precessing binary systems ?

PhysRevD.106.103035

My research is focused on performing searches of compact objects like black hole and neutron star using gravitational wave signals. These signals are short (lasting seconds to minutes), very weak and buried deep under noise. Searching for these signals is quite challenging -- think of finding a needle in a haystack!

These searches require ~ hundred Million CPU hours and thus are feasible only on large clusters or on a distributed computing network.
